Toyota Rent a Car or Times Car — best network for one-way pickups. Pick up at New Chitose Airport (CTS).

Soak in natural onsen. Try Niseko's famous ramen — perfect post-rafting recovery.

Artificial but ethereal — bright turquoise water surrounded by white birch trees. Short easy walk. Instagram gold.

Elevated boardwalk trail through prime brown bear habitat. Spot Ezo deer, foxes, and maybe bears (from safe distance).

Drive to CTS & Depart

Scenic 5-hour drive back. Drop car at CTS. Option: fly from Memanbetsu (MMB) to save 3h — ~¥15,000 JAL domestic.

Hokkaido campsites are some of Japan's best — clean, scenic, and dirt cheap.

Lakeside with lavender views. Auto-campground with power. ~¥1,500/night. Near Biei.

Sunayu, Lake Kussharo (Day 5)

Right on the shore. Natural sand onsen nearby! ~¥500/person. Wild camping feel.

Shiretoko Campground (Day 6)

Basic but has an onsen! ¥500/person. 25 min from Mt. Rausu trailhead. Bear country — follow rules.

Most don't need booking. Bring your own tent (or rent). No cooking facilities at most sites — bring a camp stove.
